Assaroe Coarse & Trout Fishery – Permit Rules
This permit covers the use of one rod only for trout and the use of two rods for coarse fishing. It is the responsibility of all anglers to be aware of and adhere to all Pike and Coarse fishing regulations available at fishinginireland.info.
Trout fishing: 1st March to 30th September
Coarse and pike fishing: Closed in October.
- Fishing allowed during daylight hours only. No electronic aids are allowed for the capture of fish
- All coarse fish must be returned live to the lake
- No fishing allowed within 250 metres of ESB Dam or within ESB station grounds or its environs
- No angling permitted from the southern shore of Assaroe Lake
- The use of live bait, prawns and shrimp, flying C and salmon lures prohibited at all times
- No salmon fishing
