Day permits for fishing plus boat rental on Ballinlough.

Angling is permitted from boats only, as the lakebed can be deceptively soft in places. Permits include the hire of a boat (excluding engine). There are 4 boats available, and engines should be thoroughly cleaned before and after use to prevent the spread of invasive species.

Visitors may only fish Ballinlough from boats provided. Visitors are not allowed to launch boats. (2 anglers max per boat)

Day permit (9.00am – 6.00pm):          €45.00 (boat & 2 anglers)

Boat fishing only. Engines are not provided. Lifejackets or buoyancy aids must be worn.

Description

  • Season:  1 May to 31 October
  • Fishing times: 9.00am – 6.00pm.
  • No. of Anglers: Max 2 per boat.
  • Bag limit: Three trout per angler per Day Permit.
  • Size limit: Minimum of 30cms from fork of tail to tip of snout.
  • Methods: Fly fishing only, no trolling. No wading allowed, no bank fishing.
  • Engines: Engines are not provided. Engines should be thoroughly cleaned before and after use to prevent the spread of invasive species.
  • Safety: Life jackets / buoyancy aids must be worn.
  • Boats: Boats must be secured after fishing.
  • Creel census: Forms must be completed and returned whether or not fish are caught.
